8-Day Lake Baikal Majestic Tour Program
Day 1 – Arrival in Irkutsk
Arrival in Irkutsk, the historic gateway to Lake Baikal. Meet your guide at the airport or railway station and transfer to the hotel.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided city tour of Irkutsk, visiting its main historical and architectural landmarks, including traditional wooden houses, Orthodox churches, and central squares.
Overnight in Irkutsk.
Day 2 – Circum-Baikal Railway & Listvyanka
After breakfast, depart for a scenic journey along the legendary Circum-Baikal Railway, one of the most beautiful rail routes in Russia. The train follows the shoreline of Lake Baikal, passing tunnels, bridges, and dramatic cliffs.
After the train excursion, transfer to Listvyanka village, located on the shores of Lake Baikal.
Overnight in Listvyanka.
Day 3 – Listvyanka and Baikal Museums
Today is dedicated to exploring Listvyanka and its surroundings. Visit the Taltsy Museum of Wooden Architecture, an open-air complex showcasing traditional Siberian life.
Continue to the Baikal Limnological Museum, where you will learn about the unique flora and fauna of the lake.
Take a cable car ride to Chersky Stone, a panoramic viewpoint offering stunning views of Lake Baikal and the Angara River.
Overnight in Listvyanka.
Day 4 – Transfer to Olkhon Island
After breakfast, travel by road to Olkhon Island, the largest and most mystical island on Lake Baikal. The journey includes a ferry crossing to the island.
Upon arrival, check in at the hotel or guesthouse. In the evening, visit Cape Burkhan (Shaman Rock), one of the most sacred places on Lake Baikal, and enjoy a walk along the shore.

Day 5 – Khoboy Cape Excursion
Today you will explore the northern part of Olkhon Island by off-road UAZ vehicle. Visit Khoboy Cape, famous for its steep cliffs and breathtaking views over the open waters of Lake Baikal.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in nature and stop at several scenic viewpoints along the way.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 6 – Buryat Culture & Optional Ogoy Island
After breakfast, visit a traditional Buryat village to learn about local customs, beliefs, and daily life. Taste traditional dishes and experience the culture of the indigenous people of the Baikal region.
Optionally, take a boat trip to Ogoy Island, home to a Buddhist Stupa symbolizing peace and harmony.
Overnight on Olkhon Island.
Day 7 – Sagan-Zaba and Return to Irkutsk
After breakfast, depart Olkhon Island and travel back to Irkutsk via the Tazheran Steppe, a unique landscape of rocky hills and wide open spaces.
Stop at Sagan-Zaba Cliff, known for its ancient rock carvings dating back thousands of years.
Arrival in Irkutsk in the evening.
Overnight in Irkutsk.
Day 8 – Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport or railway station for departure.
