Nine time zones from Moscow lies unexplored Chukotka. Here, instead of the comforts of civilization, you'll discover landscapes of pristine islands and summer tundra, flocks of birds, and large concentrations of marine mammals in their natural habitat. You'll visit remote settlements and reach Cape Dezhnev, the easternmost point of Eurasia.

This is the longest and most comprehensive expedition in Chukotka, designed with maximum comfort in mind. In the tundra, you'll sleep in comfortable lodges, and the program does not include long or challenging treks.

Day by day

Day 1 – Arrival in Anadyr
Arrival at Ugolnye Kopi Airport (suburb of Anadyr) and transfer to the hotel. A short rest, lunch in a café, and a stroll around the city. Visit the "Heritage of Chukotka" Museum. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Gudym Military Base
Guided tour of the abandoned Gudym military base, with a picnic lunch. Return to the hotel for dinner and rest.

Day 3 – Cape Dionisiya
Excursion to the picturesque Cape Dionisiya: observation of spotted and ringed seals, waterfalls, and 15-20 meter high cliffs. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 4 – Flight to Lavrentiya and transfer to Lorino
Local flight from Anadyr to Lavrentiya. Lunch and transfer to Lorino, the main indigenous settlement. Accommodation in private apartments, guided walk through the village and along the Pacific coast. Dinner included.

Day 5 – Crossing to Cape Dezhnev
Departure by motorboat to Cape Dezhnev (4 hours). Disembark near the ancient settlement of Naukan and visit the village ruins and cemetery. Monument to Semyon Dezhnev and views of Ratmanov and Krusenstern Islands. Picnic and sail to Uelen (1 hour). Visit the ivory workshop and chapel. Return to Lorino for dinner.

Day 6 – Lorino Village, Whaling Capital
Excursion to Lorino village: visit to a traditional yaranga, explanations of Chukchi life and the use of marine mammal bones and skins. Bathe in the hot springs. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 7 – Mechigmen Bay
Boat trip in Mechigmen Bay, bird and seal watching. Disembark at Masik or Cape Khyalustkina, visit to Gatlyangen Lagoon, and arrive in Yanrakynnot. Short village tour and traditional food tasting. Overnight stay in a cottage or local school.

Day 8 – Sailing to Beringia National Park
Breakfast and boat departure for the park base. Sail around Merkinkán and Achinkinkán Islands to observe colonies of puffins, cormorants, and gulls. Check in at the base and hike to the Senyavin hot springs. Dinner and rest.

Day 9 – Itygran Island
Boat trip to Whale Bone Alley. Hike to the monument of the Aleut whaling flotilla and the mouth of the Klyuchevaya River. Observe local wildlife and swim in the springs. Return to the base for dinner.

Day 10 – Achinkinkán, Merkinkán, and Penkigney Bay
Visit the islands to observe puffins and whales. Snack on Merkinkán Island, excursion to an old reindeer herders' camp, and return to base. Free time, tundra hike, and swimming in the springs. Dinner included.

Day 11 – Nuneangan and Arakamchechen Islands
Boat trip in Senyavin Strait, whale watching if visible. Visit Nuneangan Island for bird and seal colonies. Crossing Glazenapa Bay, visit Yegor Purin's tomb, and tundra-style lunch. Return to base, dinner, and swimming in the springs.

Day 12 – Abolesheva Bay
Excursion to observe ringed and spotted seals and whales. Return to base, lunch, and a walk in the springs. Dinner and rest.

Day 13 – Provideniya Settlement
Boat transfer to Rumilet Bay, then TREKOL to Provideniya. Stop at Novoye Chaplino if possible. Check in to the technical college dormitory, lunch, and visit to the Bering Heritage Museum. Dinner and sharing impressions.

Day 14 – Flight to Anadyr
Breakfast and transfer to Provideniya Bay Airport. Flight to Anadyr (12:05, subject to weather delays). Hotel check-in and farewell dinner.

Day 15 – Return home
Breakfast, check-out, stroll, and shopping. Transfer to the airport for the return flight.

1. What will the weather be like in Chukotka?
The climate is extremely changeable: summer temperatures range between 5°C and 15°C, but wind and rain are frequent. Pack waterproof clothing and layers. Weather may cause delays in local flights or changes to the itinerary.

2. What should I bring with me?
Warm, waterproof clothing, sturdy hiking boots, a hat and gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, a portable charger, a lightweight sleeping bag (optional), trekking poles, and binoculars for observing wildlife and scenery.

3. Are there any age or health requirements?
The tour is suitable for people 15 years and older. It doesn't require extreme fitness, but you should be in good physical shape for light tundra hikes and short boat trips.

4. Are special permits required?
Yes. All permits for the border area and entry to Beringia National Park are included in the tour and are handled by the organization.

5. What type of accommodations will I find during the trip?
You'll sleep in hotels, guesthouses, and typical tundra cottages, with basic comforts: single or double beds, shared or private bathrooms depending on the location, and the possibility of accessing hot springs at some stops.

6. How does local transportation work?
Flights between Anadyr, Lavrentiya, and Provideniya are included. Travel in the tundra and along the coast is by local motorboats or TREKOL all-terrain vehicles. Some routes may be delayed due to adverse weather conditions.

7. Are meals included?
Yes. Meals in the tundra and in Lorino are included (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), while hotel meals in Anadyr are available for a fee. You'll be able to sample local dishes featuring fish, whale meat, reindeer, and traditional products.

8. Will there be mobile internet or Wi-Fi?
Internet access is limited: only available in hotels and a few major locations. There is no mobile phone coverage in the tundra and on remote islands.

9. How can I book international flights?
We recommend purchasing flights with the option of date changes or a full refund. Avoid using award miles to avoid complications with changes and refunds.

10. What happens in the event of cancellations or delays?
Due to unstable weather, local flights may be delayed or canceled. If certain destinations are unreachable, the tour may be modified or rescheduled.

11. Is it possible to travel alone?
Yes, the tour also welcomes solo travelers. The guide and small group (maximum 7 people) ensure continuous support and safety throughout the expedition.
